Luis Abbou Planisi (b. Manacor, Spain, 1999) published his first film review in a magazine when he was just 15 years old.
Luis become a Bond fan thanks to a chance meeting with actress Dame Judi Dench at Harrods (London) and at the age of 16 his first book, James Bond: detrás del smoking, about the most famous film franchise ever, was published in Spanish.
In December 2017, when he was 18, a special book was published in English to celebrate the Thunderball Evening at The Cinema Museum (London).
A reader by day and writer by night, the Spaniard has also col- laborated with radio programs and podcasts talking about 007 and films and books. In May 2018, Luis introduced a screening of James Bond's Thunderball followed by a Q&A with Sylvan Mason, Bond Girl Martine Beswick, fellow author Robert Sellers and himself in a sold out evening at The Cinema Museum, London. In September 2018 Sylvan and Luis were invited to the annual convention of the Spanish fan club Archivo 007 in Madrid to talk about Sylvan’s scriptwriter father and Luis’ books.
Currently, he is writing for the Spanish website EsenciaCine and the magazines 7Setmanari and Ala Est. Luis also writes a piece for Diario de Mallorca in its "Mallorquines por el mundo" (Majorcans around the world) in which he writes about his experiences in England. The same newspaper also publishes his opinion articles.
In addition, in 2011, Luis Abbou got the first prize in the category "Mallorca de Dibuix" (Drawing Majorca) in the contest called by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands "Un Parlament per a tots I totes" (A Parliament for All).
He is currently studying Creative Writing and English Literature at the London Metropolitan University, England. Luis lives in North London.
