About...

Luis Abbou Planisi is a 20 year old writer-to-be, journalist-to-be and best-selling author-to-be who indulges in writing about himself in the third person when the medium calls for it. Back on topic, he published his first film review in a magazine when he was just 15 years old.

Luis became a Bond fan thanks to a chance meeting with actress Dame Judi Dench at Harrods (London) and at the age of 16 his first book, James Bond: detrás del smoking, about the most famous film franchise ever, was published in Spanish.

In December 2017, when he was 18, he published his second book on 007 in English, James Bond: Behind the Tuxedo. In May 2018, a limited hard-back edition was published to celebrate the Thunderball evening in London.

A reader by day and writer by night, the Spaniard has also participated in radio, TV programmes and podcasts talking about the secret agent films and books. In early May 2018, Luis introduced a screening of James Bond's Thunderball followed by a Q&A with Sylvan Whittingham Mason, Bond Girl Martine Beswick, fellow author Robert Sellers and himself in a sold out evening at The Cinema Museum, London. In September 2018 Sylvan and Luis were invited to the annual convention of the Spanish fan club Archivo 007 in Madrid to talk about Sylvan’s scriptwriter father and Luis’s books.

Currently, he is a non-award-winning columnist for Diario de Mallorca writing about his experiences in England, love, millennials, his non-existent dates and more but you will have to have a log-in as they are behind Diario de Mallorca paywall —Luis does not enjoy hearing people complaining about paying for content—. He is also a weekly/monthly (depending on the new series of House of Cards/Game of Thrones/Lovesick being out) columnist for magazines 7Setmanari, Ala Est and website EsenciaCine.

In 2011, Luis Abbou won the first prize in the category "Mallorca de Dibuix" (Drawing Majorca) in the contest called by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands "Un Parlament per a tots I totes" (A Parliament for All) —he still is not sure if coming first place in a drawing contest is important, but this is his “About” section and if he cannot gild his ego here, where can he?

He is currently studying Creative Writing and English Literature at London Metropolitan University, England, and now he is looking for a two-bedroom flat in North London where to live.

*He wanted me to assure you that the rest of the website is not written in the third person.

We get up in the morning. We do our best. Nothing else matters.
